Fashion

Hey, I've been experimenting with y2k sporty fashion. This past year I've been doing a lot of thrifting and trying new pieces. I wanna talk about it. Expect a lot of pink.

Hello Kitty Tennis

TEXT TEXT TEXT

As the person who has been awarded Challengers's number one fan (not self-proclaimed) I find myself getting giddy whenever I stumble across a cute outfit that involves tennis in some way. Especially if it also involves my signature colour: pink! This outfit comes entirely from Vinted, but the brands are as follows: t-shirt is from Sanrio, trousers from Primark, and undershirt is from Browny Standard. I absolutely love this, what I call skater style, so expect to see similar outfits as well. It reminds me of early 2000s Avril Lavigne (and perhaps I thought she was the coolest when I was a child). The butterfly clips are becoming an integral part of my style as well, so that'll be another recurring theme. My only gripe with this outfit is the trousers are slightly too big & will fall down if I'm not careful, so I am on the hunt for a pair that is the same but different.

Playboy Tennis

TEXT TEXT

Tennis, but make it sexy is my brand. So when I saw this pink Playboy X Missguided tennis shirt on Vinted I said "mine now please." This is another example of my y2k skater boi look. Possibly my favourite given how comfortable yet cute it is. The trousers are from Primark I believe but I have another white iets frans pair from Vinted that I switch them out with. The undershirt is also Primark and I've been told it looks like it tastes like raspberry (I have not tested that). The shoes are Adidas who I joke I am sponsored by & you'll understand why as you see more outfits. They are from the kids section and are still a little big but we mustn't think about that too hard. I don't know what else to say about this fit other than I truly feel so good in it. Powerful even. Could win Wimbledon maybe.

Care Bear Land

TEXT TEXT

I call this my Care Bears outfit simply because last time I wore it someone said to me "I love colourful camo like, I imagine you in some whimsical world where you need to hide in purple & pink" so I said I live in carebearland (care-a-lot for you purists). This outfit is for when I want to look sporty mixed with preppy. All from Vinted, minus the shoes, I find myself going to this outfit on days that call for an Adidas corset. You'd be surprised how often that happens. The trousers are PLT (which I took a gamble on since I've order PLT from Vinted in the past & it was actually SHEIN-yuck). The oversized coat is Wallis, and I couldn't tell you where the cardigan is from other than my mother's closet (the tag was cut out years ago cause itchy). I love the surprising versatility of this outfit, I can layer it when it's cold, dress it down when it's warmer, wear it on a night out or even just to class. Either way, I'm surprised no one has collapsed to their knees upon seeing me wear this. I'll keep trying to make it happen though.

DW Goes to Primark

TEXT TEXT TEXT

I'm not super proud of the fact that the entirety of this outfit is from Primark, but I did buy it secondhand at least. Anyway, I call this my DW look because I think the hairstyle makes me look like a little bear & she is a little bear that wears pink. This is one of the first outfits I bought from Vinted when I started dressing the way I've always wanted: pink & sporty y2k vibes. I think the argyle pattern of the top gives it a preppy edge that both contrasts and complements the sporty look of the trousers & Adidas trainers. The second pic I took on accident but I think it captures my essence well.

Pink Heart Cutout

TEXT TEXT

Just some screenshots of found footage, nbd. For real, I think we should overlook the low-res quality of these pictures to focus on the cute outfit. All from Vinted (as per usual), the oversized coat is Wallis, the heart cutout mock-neck shirt is Bershka, and the trousers are iets frans. This outfit combines my sporty style with my pink heart soul (I've seen it). The only issue with it is trousers are a little big and I have to pull them up all day when I wear them... HOWEVER, I loooove how they look so constantly having my hands on the waistband is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Sun in Eyes

Yes, yes, I'm cheating on my Nike & Adidas shoes with these super comfy, chunky Fila trainers. They are seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and they look so cute with my plethora of sporty pink fits. This one in particular is one I'm loving right now. The trousers and baby tee are from my girl, Vinted. She's truly so reliable, I love her. Anyway, the trousers are Stradivarius and will likely be featured in other outfits due to how well I think brown pairs with light pink. The top is Primark but it is pink (with green writing - yay colour theory) and features the loml tennis, so I had to have it. The jacket came from PLT and I got it when I used to wear bows in my hair, and though butterfly clips suit me more (and pull on my hair less), I like how it matches the white of my trainers.

Hockey Mum

TEXT TEXT

Hockey is my favourite sport and I love to call myself a hockey mum, despite not currently having kids. Regardless, I think this outfit really fits that vibe. It has the sporty y2k look of layering with my Browny Standard undershirt, and the baggy Stradivarius trousers add to that as well. Like the aforementioned clothes, the "subway surfer style boots" as my friends call them, came from Vinted. I wasn't aware they were kids boots, but they fit perfectly nonetheless. I was aware of the bad-luck-blue (ifykyk) jersey being a kids jersey when I got it from a Goodwill in the states, but I couldn't pass it up when it was 5 bucks and fit me. All in all: LGP!!!!

Minecraft

TEXT TEXT TEXT

The title of this post is inspired by one of my friends who said my mock neck undershirt reminded him of Minecraft. I wish I understood what he meant, but I simply am not a gamer. Anyway, this outfit is mostly from Vinted with the exception of the Adidas shirt being from a thrift store. This is just another flavour of the same outfit I keep repeating, but I thought I'd show it regardless because I'm having fun with this style. My only gripe with this outfit is the undershirt is not the most comfortable one I have, but I like the contrast in colour it adds. Pink & green being opposite on the colour wheel was made for me specifically, I think. Oh, and the one big butterfly clip in my hair I think adds a little bit of a twist to my normal look of two little butterfly clips. It's called having range.

Cheating on Adidas with Nike

TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT

The title of this post is sponsored by the blisters on my feet from my Adidas shoes (and you can blame that on me wearing ones that are a little big but let's not do that). I love the brand still, you'll see my Adidas shirts in many posts, but right now I am cheating on Adidas with an almost all Nike outfit. Entirely from Vinted, save the undershirt that is from a charity shop, this outfit is so incredibly comfortable, I'd like to be buried in it. The oversized Nike t-shirt is 100% cotton and I think that's why I could live in it forever. It also came from Vinted with matching shorts that I will be showing off in the summer. For now, enjoy this layered look that is perfect for whatever the weather is currently doing. Also, the court majestics (which are all over Vinted right now if you're looking for a pair) are entirely pink on the bottom and that makes my heart happy. My one bracelet says "caulk" btw.

Sk8er Boi

TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT

This is less sporty, less y2k, and kind of my go-to for when I want to look a little more professional. Though I'd argue the ribbon adds a sporty flair to the jumper and have been told the hat makes me look like a skater (I cannot stress enough, I don't know how to skateboard). Hand loomed in Ireland, this gem of a jumper was the first piece I found at a local thrift store I now frequent. It can be paired with many different trousers, but my I love how it looks with this tan, slightly oversized pair from Primark. They are too long, so it doesn't matter what shoes I wear, they'll be swallowed regardless, but you can see my Nikes in some of the pics. I don't know what else to say other than this is what I wore to give a presentation and got complimented... on my presentation, not my outfit, but I'm sure my tutor was impressed by the outfit as well.

Karate Kid

TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT

Daniel LaRusso wants what I have. By that I mean, he wishes he had my sense of style, he can probably do the kick I'm doing in the one pic. Once again, this is all from Vinted sans my favourite Fila shoes and the cardigan from a charity shop in the states. The pink tennis tank top is Pull & Bear & came with a second top where the colours are inverted. To top off this outfit, I put two white bow clips that are possibly meant for toddlers in my hair. It's fine, I'll pass them down to my children. This outfit is comfortable, it's sporty, it's got y2k inspiration still, so it makes me incredibly happy.

Same Director, Different Film

She was a skater boi, she said to you "yeah, I have one layered look that I keep doing, just slightly different, and I refuse to stop." Listen, it's comfortable, it's sporty, it reminds me of Hilary Duff in A Cinderella Story. My chunky Filas are stealing the show this week but they are comfy & cute so I will wear them forever and ever. The trousers and butterfly clips have also been seen before, but this Adidas top that I thrifted is not the same as the Adidas top that I thrifted and wore with my Minecraft outfit. It's a slightly different shade of pink & the Adidas logo is smaller and white. See, I have range. The undershirt I've had for over a decade so I have no idea where it's from but it's still going strong and I have to respect its integrity. We love clothes that last!!!!
